Why a French dip lifts or looks cloudy, and the fix
- The white tip looks grey: too few dips or a thin base on the tip. Dip the tip two or three times with a fresh base coat each time, and brush off between dips.
- The smile line is fuzzy: base spread past the tip line. Paint the base on the tip only, at the angle of the smile, and use a French mold if the hand is not steady.
