How to cast a charm
- Fill. Press a bead of A'DOR 3D Mold Rubber Gel, non-sticky gel, builder gel, or a colored gel into the cavity with a silicone tool and level it flush with the mold surface. For a two-tone charm, lay a thin layer of one color, cure, then fill with the second.
- Cure. Silicone molds are translucent enough to cure through under LED; give thick shapes two passes, or cure once from the top and once from the underside.
- Release. Flex the mold from the back and pop the charm out. Trim any flash at the edge with a nipper.
- Finish the charm. Leave it clear, paint it with line art gel, or dust it with chrome powder and cure; a charm can be decorated before it ever touches the nail.
- Set. Place the charm on the cured manicure in a dot of rhinestone gel, cure, then run a rim of gel around the base and cure again. Never top coat over the face of a detailed charm; it fills the detail.

Why do cast charms crack or come out cloudy?
Cracking usually means the gel was too hard for the shape: thin, spindly pieces like bow loops and butterfly wings need a flexible casting gel such as the A'DOR 3D Mold Rubber Gel or a builder gel rather than a brittle hard gel, and they need to be released by flexing the mold, never by prying with a tool.
