Which liquids does a Basics jar need?

Dipping and sculpting with a Basics jar
- Prep. Push back, remove shine, dust, dehydrate, then SNS E.A Bond.
- Dip. A thin coat of Gelous Base or Gel Base, dip, tap, brush off; repeat for a second and a third coat as the nail needs.
- Seal and shape. Sealer Dry, shape and buff, a second Sealer Dry, wipe, then Gel Top in two thin coats. No lamp.
- Sculpt. For an extension, a bead of EMA monomer on an acrylic brush, placed at the apex, drawn to the free edge on a form or tip, filed, and finished with top.
- Brush care. Wipe the base and top brushes in Brush Saver between clients.

Troubleshooting a Basics dip set
- Lifting at the cuticle within the week: base on the skin, or the plate not dehydrated. Leave a hairline margin, apply E.A Bond to a dry plate, and brush powder away from the cuticle before the sealer.
- Bulky or uneven set: the base coat laid thick, or a fourth dip. Two thin dips and a third only for a client who is hard on her hands.
- Cloudy top: Sealer Dry had not flashed off before the top, or dust was left after buffing. Wait, brush and wipe, then top.
- A number that no longer matches the client's last set: the jar sold through and was replaced by a Pro shade. Keep the cured swatch of the old number beside the new one on the stick, and show the client both before the service.
Storage and reorder
Keep the lid on between dips and work from a tray, since a wet base brush in the stock jar is what clumps a powder; the jar keeps indefinitely closed and dry.
