1. Shape and clean the plate: file to shape, ease the cuticle back, buff off the shine and wipe the nail.
2. pH step: a single coat of OPI Bond-Aid readies the plate for adhesion.
3. Super Base: one very thin coat, capped at the free edge, cured for 30 seconds.
4. First colour coat: lay OPI N25 Big Apple Red on thin and let the brush settle the edge, cure 30 seconds.
5. Second colour coat: this is the coat that brings the shade to its full depth, cure 30 seconds.
6. Top coat: finish with Super Gloss for maximum shine or the No Wipe top coat when chrome or art is going over it, cure 30 seconds.
7. Last check: cuticle oil, then run a finger down each sidewall before the client stands up.

How to take it off

OPI N25 Big Apple Red is a soak-off gel, so nothing here needs to be drilled off. Break the seal by filing through the top coat until the shine is gone, then wrap each nail in an acetone-soaked pad and leave it long enough for the layers to lift on their own. Ease the softened gel off with a wooden pusher. If it resists, re-wrap rather than scrape, because scraping is what thins the plate and causes the next set to lift.
