141 Velvet Fig gives you a soft black and a wet-look gloss in one bottle. Black needs a tidy cuticle line because every gap shows.
What you get in the bottle
- Two ingredients removed, not the performance: DND 141 Velvet Fig keeps the pigment load and the high-gloss finish while leaving out HEMA and TPO.
- Made for the techs too: hands are in product all day, which is why ND stocks this line for the bench as much as the client.
- Self-levelling texture: less fighting the brush, fewer heavy coats.
- Colour choice is not the trade-off: the HEMA and TPO free line runs to 288 shades.
- Gloss that holds: the cured finish stays high-shine for the life of the set as long as the top coat caps the free edge.

- Prep the nail: shape, push back, buff flat, dehydrate.
- Base coat: thin, capped, cured.
- Build the colour: two thin coats of DND 141 Velvet Fig, curing between them, rather than one thick pass.
- Seal it in: top gel over the whole nail and cure.
- Tacky layer: wipe it off if your top coat leaves one.
- Aftercare: oil the cuticle and check the sidewalls before the client stands up.
Where this shade gets booked
- Statement sets: black needs a tidy cuticle line because every gap shows.
- Pairing work: it sits next to a glossy top for depth or a matte top for a flat finish.
- Nail art bases, where a glossy finish is what the client asked for.
HEMA-free against a standard gel
There is one decision here and it is a formula decision. Ordinary gel is built on HEMA and usually cures with TPO. DND 141 Velvet Fig has neither, and keeps the pigment load and the high-gloss finish that make the regular line worth stocking. Most salons start with the clients who have had a reaction and widen out from there. Patch test anyone with a known allergy.
How to take it off
DND 141 Velvet Fig is a soak-off gel, so nothing here needs to be drilled off. Break the seal by filing through the top coat until the shine is gone, then wrap each nail in an acetone-soaked pad and leave it long enough for the layers to lift on their own. Ease the softened gel off with a wooden pusher. If it resists, re-wrap rather than scrape, because scraping is what thins the plate and causes the next set to lift.
DND 141 Velvet Fig is stocked alongside the DND HEMA and TPO free collection, the whole gel and lacquer category and the full DND gel and lacquer wall.
