Why is this gel polish on clearance?

Which brands are in the gel clearance?

Does clearance gel wear as long as full-price gel?
Yes, because it is the same product. Over the same brand's base and top, cured 60 seconds under LED (30 to 60 seconds for OPI), two thin coats wear 2 to 3 weeks with cuticle oil daily and gloves for cleaning. The only thing that changes on clearance is the price and the fact that the shade will not come back.
Can I use clearance gel with a different brand's base and top?
It usually works, but for predictable adhesion and cure keep base, color, and top in one brand family: LDS color over LDS base and top, LAVIS over LAVIS, OPI over OPI. If you are buying a clearance palette from a brand you do not stock yet, add that brand's base and top to the same order.

How to apply gel color from this page
- Prep. Push back cuticles, lightly buff the natural nail, dehydrate, and wipe clean.
- Base gel. One thin coat of the same brand's base, cured under LED or UV.
- Two thin color coats. Cure after each. LDS and LAVIS cure in 60 seconds under LED; OPI classic GelColor in 30 to 60 seconds.
- Top gel. Seal, cap the free edge, and cure. Wipe the tacky layer with alcohol unless the top is no-wipe.
Pro tip: glitter and reflective shades from the LAVIS clearance group read best over a dark base or a solid color from the same family; one coat of glitter over a cured solid saves product and cures more evenly than three coats of glitter alone.
How often does the clearance page change?
Weekly, in both directions. Shades leave as they sell through, and new codes arrive when a brand discontinues one, when a Ver2 set replaces a Ver1 set, or when a seasonal palette closes. The brand mix moves with it: at the moment LDS and LAVIS make up most of the page and OPI a small group, but a clearance sweep from any of the seven gel brands ND carries can land here. If you are watching for one brand, filter by vendor and check back on Monday, when the previous week's changes have settled.
What to add to a clearance order
- The matched base and top, if the brand is new to your station. LDS colors want LDS base and top, LAVIS wants LAVIS base and Diamond Top, OPI wants Intelli or ProStay base and the matching top.
- A dark base for the effects shades. The LAVIS reflective and glitter singles and the LDS Pearl Veil cat eye read best over a black or deep base coat.
- A magnet, if you take the cat eye set. The stripe does not form without one.
- Empty swatch sticks. A clearance palette is only useful on the chart once it is swatched, and it will not be reordered, so swatch it the day it arrives.
Care and removal
- Cuticle oil daily and gloves for cleaning are what get a gel set to the 3-week mark.
- Remove with a 100 percent acetone foil wrap for about 10 minutes. Do not peel.
- Store bottles upright, at room temperature, away from sunlight; a clearance bottle bought in depth will keep its pigment if it is kept out of the light.

Clearance gel on the fill schedule
A clearance shade is not a one-off if the salon plans for it. When a client picks a clearance color and likes it, the tech notes on her card that the bottle will not be reordered and, at the next fill, either buys the current version of the number from the brand's regular page or steers her to the nearest shade on the wall before the bottle runs out. Clearance gel over dip and acrylic
A clearance gel is applied like any gel, so it goes over a buffed dip or acrylic set on a thin cured gel base as readily as on a natural nail, which makes the page a source of accent colors for the enhancement chairs as well as the gel chair.
